He subsequently earned a Masters in Taxation from Bentley University and then returned to Northeastern part time to teach business taxation at the graduate level. Jim is currently a member of the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s.

He is a registered securities agent and investment advisor representative and also holds licenses for life, health, variable, accident and long-term care insurance.

Professional Experience

Jim started his business career at the international tax and accounting firm of Ernst & Young. While there, in his role as Tax Principal, Jim provided tax planning and compliance services for his clients, which included representing clients who were undergoing Federal and state tax examinations. In addition, he provided guidance for pursuing optimum tax results during business purchase and sales transactions as well as corporate reorganizations.

He subsequently established his own accounting firm and over time developed the infrastructure, staff and professional connections that would allow his firm to function as a “family office” for a small number of selected clients. He also continues to advise longstanding clients on all aspects of the business lifecycle, from capitalization to operations and growth as well as acquisitions and divestitures.
